Al Carns MP
Al met with local constituents representing the Act Now, Change Forever campaign, a movement calling for urgent action on climate and nature. During the meeting, Al discussed practical ways to protect our communities, improve air quality, increase access to green spaces, and support sustainable, affordable housing.
It was an important opportunity to hear directly from residents about the issues they care most about and how we can work together to deliver bold, practical solutions locally and nationally.
The government has announced a major expansion of Great British Energy’s scheme to cut energy bills for more schools and hospitals by having solar panels installed in an additional 250 schools and over 270 NHS sites across the country. A typical school could save up to £25,000 per year, whilst the average NHS site could save up to £45,000 per year on their annual energy bill, which can be put back in to front line services.
