Al Carns MP
On a recent catch-up visit to Bournville Lane Police Station, Al was presented with the framed winning poster from the West Midlands Police Knife Crime Awareness Week which took place in two schools in the Selly Oak constituency in November.
Halving knife crime over the next decade is a key part of The Labour Party’s Safer Streets mission, and we are taking immediate action.
The Government is already taking dangerous weapons off the street. We have banned zombie-style knives and machetes; and the manufacture, supply, sale and possession of zombie-style knives and machetes became illegal on 24th September 2024.
Thank you to West Midlands Police for the fantastic work they have been doing in schools around this very important issue. The framed winning poster is already hung on the wall in my constituency office and is being admired by all who see it!
